The Land of Lost Socks

Dragon's Lair is one of my favourite videogames of all time, and sadly the "interactive video" game genre died about as quickly as it came. I don't think the Sega CD counts much as no sane person decided to buy one.
The history lesson aside, The Land of Lost Socks is a kitsch sock-puppet game that was a good excuse to come up with a way to recreate a Laserdisc Game engine. These engines were really simple to program because they so heavily depended on the content of the video taking care of everything else.
To control the game, use the arrow keys, and spacebar. I definitely recommend trying it on your Playstation 3 as well, since I took special care to make sure it would work in the web browser with the controller's D-pad and X button.
Last but not least, I've made the Laserdisc Game Engine easy to mod. If you are so inclined, and have some video editing or animation skills, download the actionscript, its sister XML, and the swf. Both of the text-editable files have enough documentation inside to get you on your way. The default movie file name is "laserdisc.f4v", which goes in the same directory as everything else. Pretty simple.
